holiday season, new website, last email?

Hey Folks,

We have been sold out of beef and lamb for a while, but we have still been busy. Check out our new website- Dragonfly Farms It has news, photos and prices. We will be able to keep it updated easier.

We are also switching to a newsletter program and have to create our subscriber list again. I am not going to add anyone’s name, unless you give me permission. You can just email me back to sign you up, or you can easily go to our contact page on our website and enter your email address there. Please sign up a friend if they are interested, or share the newsletters with them.

We have just finished our calving season. We got 13 calves from 12 cows. All are healthy and running around. Pictures are on our website and future emails. We have turned the ram out with the sheep, so we will be getting lots of lambs in April. Following us on Facebook or Twitter is another way to see our latest pictures.

We have beef at the butcher. Most of it is spoken for as we are filling our orders for quarters and sides, but we will have some available by Thanksgiving. If you don’t want to eat just turkey for the next couple of months, call or email and get some great grass fed beef. We will also have lamb by the middle of December.

New Website and Newsletter

Howdy all,
We have updated our website to a model that will be easier for us keep current. www.dragonflyfarms.com Please check it out and look on the news page to see what we are doing. Also on the contact page is a sign up for our newsletter. Please sign up. I will be using that for now and putting this blog on hold. We will still be using facebook and twitter.
We are currently sold out of beef and lamb, but beef is coming in a couple of weeks and lamb mid December.

Black Eyed Peas

Hi Everyone,

We are going to be at the Ashland farmers market tomorrow with bushels of black eyed peas! We are working on harvesting a half an acre that we have planted in our neighbors front yard. We will be picking for a couple of weeks, so if you would like to order some, please let me know. If you have an idea of who might want some we need more outlets for this many peas. We are low on beef for now, but we have some excellent steers at the butcher and will be fully stocked soon.

Grass fed beef at the Ashland market

Market Tomorrow

Hey Folks,

We have survived the recent storms and excessive heat, and hope that you have too. It looks like the weather will improve next week. Hopefully that improvement sticks around for a while.

Despite tomorrow’s heat we will be at the Ashland market in the morning.  I recommend coming early to get your favorite goodies and to beat the heat.

We have sirloin steaks, ground beef, brats and sweet Italian sausage, short ribs, stew meat, liver and other organ meat, and a good selection of roasts, including London broil. We have some ground lamb, lamb shanks and a few chops. We will also be bringing beets, radishes, kale and Swiss chard.

Let me know if you would like me to reserve anything for you.

This weekend!

Hello all!  We will be at the Ashland Farmer’s Market tomorrow morning with an excellent selection of grass fed beef cuts.  A recent trip to the butcher has us fully stocked with ground beef, steaks and roasts.  We will also be bringing the last of this season’s lamb, which includes a leg of lamb, shanks, chops and ground lamb. 

We can also now be found at the new Atlee Farmer’s Market on Wednesday evening from 4:30 – 7:30 pm.  This market is at New Highland Baptist Church on New Ashcake Road and has so far been a success.

We enjoyed seeing so many of you at our farm’s 100 year celebration party.  Thank you to all of you who attended and helped make the party a fun event.

The weather should be gorgeous tomorrow, hope to see you out at the market!  Please call or e-mail ahead if you have any special requests.

Farm Party June 9th

Howdy All,

We are throwing a party on June 9^th and want to invite you all. Our home and farm in Beaverdam is 100 years old this year. We have been here for five years and would like to have an open house/ farm party to celebrate. We will open the doors at 3 for tours and socializing, music and food will be at 5. The music will be provided by the Tender, a local band that is great. Please rsvp so that we can get a count for food.
